check eng. light

Check Eng Light

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried posting in the tech help section but no sugestions. How about here?
I Have '93 S320 With 64,000 Miles. The Check Eng Light Is On And A Computer Check Showed Code "071" Throttle Positioning Sensor Shorted To Positive. An Aprox Cost Of $1200-1800 To Replace With New Or Rebuilt. I Am Thinking Of Having Another Computer Check Done By Another Dealer At A Cost Of $100-150 Just To Be Sure. Would It Be Good Idea To Do Another Check, And How Important Is This Error Code. What Could Happen If I Do Not Fix This Item. How Critical Is This Sensor. also wouls disconnecting thebattery for a few seconds do any damage? Thanks, Michael

Welcome to the forum, perhaps you would get a faster response in Tech Help, but i see you've already posted the exact same question there.
