Anyone know DNA Freight? - shipping a motorcycle

http://www.dnafreight.com/

I might need to ship a motorcycle soon and this looks like a much cheaper way to go than ForwardAir. I used ForwardAir several years ago and they were great but their prices are four times as high now.

Any other alternative ideas, suggestions, or experiences are welcome.

I have one inquiry about shipping it to Italy, ideas on that are welcome also. I know about the excess payment scams and the broker scams, "my client is interested".

Don't know much about that company, but do be wary of overseas buyers. As you stated, there are all sorts of scams... I would take a 10 or 20% hit on the sale to avoid dealing with that headache. I think shipping vehicles accross the pond takes forever and a day, which if you use an escrow service could hold your money up indefinitely, and has all kinds of hidden costs that the buyer could turn around and ask you to help pay. Plus, if something does not meet Italian specs he may ask you to help pay to make it right, etc... Headache!

I had a sidecar for my Vespa shipped in a motorcycle crate from CA by Forward Air. They were cheap, but I think they are just major airport to major airport. I had to drive to Indy to pick it up... well worth the savings, though.

Anyway, good luck!

I deal with a small freight forwarder that specializes in such items.

Berklay International and Domestic Cargo Services.

Ask for Dennis Klainberg

Tel: 718-656-6066

e-mail: info@berklay.com

Tell him I sent you.

Try not to get in a fight with him.
