'03 and up will get you a twin turbo V12. You'd be hard pressed to find one and if you do, big money.

Thanks for all of the wonderful insight on this subject. Sounds like some of these guys are practically the authority on this subject, and 560SEC, in general for that matter..
Sattish's accomplishments sound SO interesting. I will be phoning him as soon as possible and perhaps get some time to go and see him next week, or even tomorrow. What part of Michigan, does he live in though..?

I'm running up to BattleCreek, and Grand Rapids, for morning pick-ups, and deliveries. As I do thrice a week, form South Carolina, for my BMW account. I just stopped here, in Florence Kentucky along the way, to check my Emails, and then be on my way. I hope to get a hold of him tomorrow, and if practical, swing by his shop for alittle while, and see what he's got for show and tell.

Yes. I kinda figured that much.

The money however, is not an issue for me. I just need to locate the hardware when the time comes, and after I get the details squared away.

I may just drop the car off with Sattish, and leave everything to him...He can find the set-up somewhere, and put it together, and treat it as he would if it were his own.

Do you guys feel confident that I can trust him..? So far, I am pretty convinced he's a straight shooter.

To allow him to disect my baby for somewhat of an experiment, with a twin turbo V-12, is quite another thing, and scares me a little..

I mean, the car could be destroyed, in the process..

I'll see what he says though..

Damn!! That's all the way on the other side of the state, near Livonia/Detroit. Guess I'll have to plan this one a little further ahead of time, for next week or something. It is too far out of my way, and will interfere with my scheduled appointments..Double Damn !!

Whoa - a twin-turbo SEC? That would be a BEAST!

Another neat modification would be to put Lambo doors on the SEC as well. Then you could line that twin-turbo SEC up against that Lambo of yours and see which one is faster.

I'd travel across the country to see that one.

FYI - Satish actually does exist and he actually does have some real, honest-to-goodness wildly custom cars.

Good luck w/ your project.

Yeah, definately..Twin Turbo V12, SIX SPEED, 560SEC,AMG...That would be a wonderful prospect, with very satisfying results I'm sure. I may just end up doing that though, if Satish, is up for the challenge. It would probably take most of a year, a lot of man hours, and engineering. Along with that, probably a lot of custom fabrication, but what a sweet car.

I'd finish the car off, with a six, or eight point roll bar, and a 3.25" dual, staineless exhaust system, with either Reimis, or Flowmaster two chamber mufflers..K+N air filter, and some computer mods, to go along with the V-12's computer...

Then, to add the final touch....A full "Wide Body" job on the thing..WooHoo!!

Sounds like a far cry from an original euro spec AMG 560SEC that you say you have.

If it was mine, I'd think I'd leave it as Mercedes, God and AMG intended.
Period correct, authentic euro spec AMG 560SEC coupes are pretty rare.

Your project sounds interesting, but it'd be considered a custom car, and no longer a thoroughbred AMG. Satish knows what he is doing, and his work is to the highest standard and care.... but he is still Satish, not the AMG company back in the 1980's in Affalterbach.

Resale on an authentic AMG is one thing, and on a custom car it would depend on finding someone with the exact same taste as you had. Just my personal opinion Nick, of course. I am not raining on your parade, simply stating my personal preferences and observations, my .02 cents (or pfennigs)

I am on the side that looks not so kindly on the K & N filters, though, but this debate on them continues on here, and else where.

Didn't really think that through too much I guess. The car is sorta rare, and all of thet work might be good to do to a regular, non-AMG car wouldn't it ?
You've made some very valid points, about touching very much of the originality of the car.

The car is a full Euro spec. also, which I know is pretty rare.

I've got a friend close by here with an 86-ish 380 SEC, N/A, for sale. He only wants $2900.oo (my special price) for the car. The interior, and exterior are really nice, and the car has 155,000 miles on it. It isn't Euro, spec or anything special. He called me up a week or so ago, and offered it to me. I passed it up, but know he still has it.

Maybe that would be a better car, to tear up, and build such a monster out of..?

I did consider the car, for a big block Chevy, and six speed project.

With big block Chevy/Six speed, it would pair up nicely with my small block Chevy/Six speed 123 coupe.

^^^^^^Now you are talking. Keep the SEC 560 AMG euro as is.
(You wouldn't go and mess with your Yenko Nova, and mod it all up would you? Same kind of thing)

Get that old 155 hp 380SEC and mod it to your heart's content.

Scroll to the bottom, below here, and see just how far people have pushed the SEC envelope. Actually pretty funny to see them with 6:71 blowers, drag cars, funny cars and the like:

WOW, What a cool link, thanks. Getting all kinds of strange ideas about the whole thing now.

You are correct about the Yenko Nova. It has never been modified at all, and is worth more "as is". With 14k on the clock, and literally everything original, with the one exception of the fluids.

I'd never touch a thing on that car. I didn't think the 560 SEC, AMG, Euro, was a very good idea, to tear up, or change. Atleast, not until the awakening you gave me...Thanks..Calling him first thing tomorrow morning. He's out of town, but I will snatch the 380, SEC up, and use that for the project. It won't be a problem because he lives like 15 miles from my house.

Cool, I hijacked my own thread...Not the first time though, probably not the last either..LOL
