I think if you are on a street where people are rioting to change the government there is a small chance that you could end up hurt or dead. Kind of like hiking on the border of a nation that hates all westerners makes it somewhat likely that your stupid butt will end up in a prison cell.

I have to say that I do admire any journalist who will go out in the middle of it and try to get info out. When you look at what the journalist did in WWII, Viet Nam... etc, I think it's pretty gutsy. No way in hell I would do it.

IMO, Anderson Cooper is labeling himself as a reporter/anchor. He's moving towards a Nancy Grace type flavor, and misses the boat when it comes to scooping a major story like Egypt....just too late to the news party, too often.

As far as his interviews, Mr. Cooper acts the bully rather than allow dialogue and letting his audience decide or form opinion. IMO, he is still trying to find his footing and CNN has allowed him to stay much longer as a ratings loser than others without his family pedigree, or even having the ultimate hag....Ms. Griffin. Perhaps the network still feels sorry for the loss of Anderson's brother at such an early age.
