The worst thing about the overtime was having to listen longer to Joe Suck.

Speaking as a Pats fan, 1) PHEW! (although it would have put it in into OT rather than an immediate loss) and 2) How the hell are the Pats favored in the Super Bowl???

The post-season announcers generally suck (football, baseball, etc.) when the networks bring in their "main" guys rather than the regulars.

I know when the Sox play in the post-season, I turn the volume down on the tv and listen to the radio broadcast.

If the radio is a few seconds ahead of the cable TV, though, I can't listen to a guy sliding into second, when he's still in the batters box on the tube screen!. That's usually the case around these parts.

While I can't sync it, U-verse does allow you to "rewind" a few seconds at a time. I can usually get pretty close.

Same here. Yesterday, as during many games, if I need to run around the house getting small stuff done, I'll keep my radio headset on and when they start with the "and it's a pass to Davis . . . " and their tone of voice goes up like it could be a big play I turn the radio off quick and go into to the TV room in time to see the snap on the play.

Alex Smith may surprise us all yet, has some great skills but I fear he too has character issues that will keep him out of the top tier.

That'll cost ya 15!
Twice!! wtf. Jumping up on the camera platform to take a bow?
He's fast and has talent, but....

Is he related to Terrell Owens by any chance?

Maybe it's just me but I could have sworn I saw numerous teammates displaying body language that looked like a physical form of eye-rolling at his antics. His interviews after his heroics last week were interesting. It's a shame that some people have major physical talent but seem to be stuck in immaturity, ego trips, etc. Owens being a prime example.

I thought Harbaugh had a decent point about it being akin to the Lambeau Leap. It's still "Hey, look at me!"

You might enjoy this clip about the TO saga..... in Philly...
Man, he had this city in the palm of his hand..until he hired Drew "Next Question" Rosenhaus as his agent.
Terrell Owens: A Modern Day Christ? - YouTube
Jeffrey Lurie and Andy Reid didn't waste any time cutting him from the team.

They all show off, virtually all of them. Getting up on the platform was perhaps too much of an escalation.

As it turned out, neither of his penalties hurt them.

the Lambeau Leap at least shares the spotlight with the fans. puts some on TV and gives a few the opportunity to congratulate the player, hands on.

what's the chances of another helmet catch??

Makews no sense to me either, Except Joe Buck said the the Lambeau Leap was grandfathered and exempt from excessive celebration penalties!! WTF??

Isn't what's good for the goose, good for the gander ??

Who really said "When you get to the end zone, act like you've been there before"?

It's ironic that he then became a favorite son in Dallas for awhile, considering his over the top antics there when he was with the niners, running to mid-field to crow on the big Dallas star after scoring a TD, not once but twice!

IIRC, the Cowboys player who leveled him the second time only got a minor penalty, offset by the one on T.O.

And he did it again with the Eagles!

I guess TO is a bit of a jackass, but at least his on-field celebrations had style and humor. I particularly liked the one where he pulled out a Sharpie and autographed the ball. The problem with most of those showboats is that they have no style or imagination. One of the best on-field celebrations was by the receiver for the Saints who had hidden a cell phone under the goal post padding. When he scored, he got the phone and called his mom. That's funny, IMHO. I wish there was some way on-field celebrations could be penalized or not based on merit. Dionne Sanders, for example, can't dance. His attempts at end zone celebrations should have gotten a flag every time. TO's celebrations were done well, I think.
