We have been using Charmin for a good long while but lately the paper has been changed apparently and suddenly does not do the job without coming apart.

I asked the Mrs. to try Cottenelle. Same results.

Have the tp companies suddenly changed their formulas?

Can anybody recommend a tp that will not fall apart under serious use?

Since our only loyalty is to the brand that is on sale at the time of purchase, I've used them all including the flimsy store brand stuff. The Charmin Ultra Strong sure seems like some pretty heavy duty stuff, to the point that I need to consciously use less to prevent a...log jam ...when flushing.

Probably utilizing more and more recycled content.

They sure have. Scotts is basically turned to sandpaper now.

The best paper is now "White Cloud Ultra Soft and Thick". It's three ply and sold at WalMart if you can stomach going there.

The two ply from Costco (Kirkland) is quite good and about 1/2 the price of the White Cloud.

Maybe a wire brush is required !!

Make sure you dont get the wrong end of the stick though !!

I haven't seen it for years - I miss it so much! Not only was it medicated but it doubled up as pretty good tracing paper.
