Don't listen to them. That particular VW engine is not the paragon of reliability.

I have the 4 banger version and it is just fine, but the complication of sticking it in the Volvo hurts. Has 2 timing belts. The car's really going to be underpowered with that lump.

i saw that one but the ad made me weary. i picture an overly excited older man with a comb over in a plaid suit running out of an office to shake my hand with two hands and tell me little white lies in a loud voice. do you know anything about the place selling it? village auto sales? would need to know why so much bumper trim is missing and some pics of the back. looks like rust on the license plate area? i might call though.

waiting on the seller from CA to know if i even want that car or if it's not worth it. he seems open to it but i get the feeling that he doesn't want to deal with a long distance transaction. we shall see!

i'm still trolling craigslists...
