Joe Biden Doesn't LOOK Like a Chinese Person

It sounds like Joe Biden needs to move to China:

Vice President Joe Biden: 'Great' cities in China, not United States - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.com

WHY would an elected US Official say something like this at a US Mayor's convention? How unAmerican can anyone be?

It's his opinion that they are doing better than we are. Would it be wrong for me to say that I think Perth is a nicer city than NYC?

No, it wouldn't be wrong.

You just have to accept the fact that some troll will immediately criticize you for hating America.

It's a black and white world in the mind of the troll. Hell, you bought a German car. You believe the Germans make better cars than America does. Therefore, you must hate America, too.

Maybe the ones built on land where the government cleaned out whole villages and relocated the residents by force.

Maybe because it's true? When it comes to trying to bring our infrastructure and public services back into the upper echelon of countries around the world, the GOP has thrown in the towel. They suggest that we can't afford infrastructure, teachers, police, and the other things prosperous countries are supposed to have. The whole Ryan "plan" (it's not a plan at all) is a great, big white flag. Its message is that America is toast, there is no point in even trying anymore.

Maybe you agree with that vision. I prefer Biden's. Here's a bit of context for his comments to the mayors:
Quote:
...Biden pushed the administration's efforts to support cities, through its $789-billion stimulus plan that sent money to pay teachers, police and firefighters, and more recent "Jobs Bill" proposals. And he decried the holdup in Congress of a $109 billion transportation spending bill, adding that the United States was falling behind in investing in public works.

"It's called infrastructure. It's the stuff that makes businesses competitive," he said. "I wish you could travel around the world with me: 600,000 miles so far, just as vice president. If I blindfolded Americans and took them to some of the airports or ports in China and then into one in any one of your cities, in the middle of the night, and said, 'Which one is American? Which one is in a city in America? Which one is in China?' Most Americans would say that great one is in America. It's not."

Biden groused that no major legislation is likely to pass before the November election but called on the mayors, particularly Republicans, to talk with their congressional delegations. The mayors' conference officially is nonpartisan, but an estimated two-thirds of the members are Democrats...

Do you really think that Biden prefers China to the US?

What makes cities great is great people. Not stuff. Ancient cities built from slave labor were "great" too. Sure, your tower is bigger than mine. If that's great then you can have that label.

Maybe they figure on paying for things instead of adding them onto the charge card.

With that attitude, nobody would ever invest in anything.

I do not think that is the typical description of what a great city is. Usually a great city is one is which there is good pubic transportation. Bridges and roads that are in good repair. Streets that are clean and well lit. Nice out door areas. Clean and safe parks. Clean air.

I think there are a few US cities that fulfill some of those criteria. Not nearly as many as there should be.

I disagree- NYC is filled with less than "great people" by a large majority yet is consider to be a great city.
