Cortana has been in Windows Mobile for a while -- not sure it's actually all that useful on the desktop. Uptake of talking AI has been generally poor, even on phones. I can't remember the last time I saw someone talking to Siri, though I've seen plenty of people swiping their phones.

Apple iOS 7: 85 Percent Of People Haven't Used Siri, 46 Percent Think Apple Oversold Its Release
And if you check a poll from the year before, 87% of Siri equiped devices say that they use the AI feature monthly.

They are right.

As Musk pointed out the problem with AI is that eventually it could start to develop and evolve itself. Humans evolve very slowly, AI would be like bacteria, so in theory you could go from say version 1.0 to 10.0 in a month or less, and it could keep getting faster.

I agree we are summoning a demon.

My assistant looks like this but there's no danger of her taking over the world, she's not so smart...

Cyanogen with Microsoft spyware instead of Google spyware? Screw that idea with a fire axe. Then again, if M$ is investing in Android OS's, does that mean they lack confidence in Windows Phone 10?

Though bone-stock Android is actually quite friendly to M$ services. Google doesn't do much to prohibit the installation of ANY software.

Meh. I only get lucky with Siri about half the time. The rest of the time I get "sorry, I can't help you right now". Story of my life...

I do not like the voice prompt stuff, but it's neat to see the end result of lots and lots of data analysis as a UI.
