Husky you are a party pooper, taking risks makes life exciting. Drove cross country and back in a brand new Suburban, loved the trip but the driving was uneventful, just what you expect in a new car. Not that long ago I drove from Los Angeles to Seattle for a wedding in my '89 Volvo 780, now that was exciting. Going 85mph over the mountains, marveling to myself that it was even possible.
Always loved the ride quality of my '78 300CD, the car was very firm and stiff. Never took mine further than San Diego but it was always a joy. It was the kind of car that when you missed the exit it was actually a good thing.

well put, Tom!
I couldn't have phrased that any better myself! The CD's don't look like much, but I can hustle mine down a VERY curvy road with elevation changes & decreasing radius turns with very little drama. Slow cars are fun to drive fast!

My '83 didn't rack up the miles by puttering around town. PO drove it Fla to California and back many times, and Fla to PA on a regular basis. I thought nothing of loading up the family and rolling NYC to VA to western MD, back to NYC via Scanton PA, or take it NYC to Maine for a weekend.
Best time driving it was right after a front end rebuild at 254k miles ripping down the Taconic Parkway. Never got a speeding ticket despite my best efforts, cops apparently never saw it go by, but they would nail the guy either in front or behind me.
