Window tint? I found the best!

When I asked my Mercedes dealer to recommend a tint for my 1989 420 SEL, he said that a new company has developed a break through in tint technology. Huper Optik (a german company). Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar, Audi, and Porsche recommend this tint ONLY for their cars. Tint films in the past used metal, which not only looked unattractive, but sometimes interferred with cell phones and garage door openers. Those films also had a limited lifetime. The new Huper Optik film is ceramic based and has much better UV rejection, without having to be "limo black". When I got my car back it looked GREAT! It was somewhat expensive, but it has a LIFETIME guarantee. Any comments?

Any pix? I've been considering tinting my 300D (and now my 300SDL) for some time and looked into the various brands. Madico comes highly recommended so I'll probably go with that. Post those pix, man.

Beautiful! Is that a mirrored tint? What shade percentage did you get?

Huper Optic ceramic tint

No, there isn't any "mirror" reflectivity from the tint because it's not metal. My windows were just real clean and it was a sunny day. The percentage goes as follows - 60% on back windshield and rear side windows. 40% on front side windows. This was as dark as Arizona law would allow. I had metallic tint on my other cars in the past and it lasted for about five to six years. Then they literally have to scrape it off before they can put more on again. They charge quite a bit for that and with the cost for the new tint are you really saving any money? Plus, they made a mess of my interior with the tiny pieces of scraped off tint! The cost for the Huper Optic tint was $380.00 but it also has better UV rejection and it has a LIFETIME garantee. LIFETIME!

I was fairly certain the high end mettalic Lumar tints carried a life time waranty as well?

Regardless, it looks great, and it is nice to see another tint technology come to light (or dark?).

FWIW, Madico also has a lifetime warranty. I'll check out Huper Optiks, too. Thanks.
