independent eBay feedback site?

There's a string of threads in the Diesel forum about a forum member who got the short end from a high profile eBay seller and eBay itself. Some references -

Ebay - Caution With a Seller Named "Bigbabbo"!

"bigbabbo" has ME suspended!!!

"bigbabbo" Saga Continues!

Unbelievable!! Bigbabbo AGAIN!!!

Is there an independent site that rates eBay buyers and sellers? Should there be such a site? Such a site would be the subject of malicious feedback but at least high profile eBay sellers won't be able to have negative feedback erased.

www.unbiasedauctionfeedback.com ... who's in?

I wonder how quickly eBay would shut down such a site. I wonder how quickly slander lawsuits would pile up.

On a side note, it occurs to me that eBay is a realization of one of those futuristic collectives like the Borg, the Matrix or that Max Headroom society. Doesn't it seem to suck every last bit of life out of some people... like me?

sixto, I couldn't help but notice that you've "got issues" with E-Bay. This is like the third or so post about their operations. Have you ever written to them directly to make suggestions or provide feedback as to better their operations? If so, what has been the response.

I have over a hundred E-Bay transactions as a buyer and seller of items both in the US and Germany (love those MB items in Germany!) and can only recall one bad transaction with an obnoxious American seller. Frankly, if a person can go to any store or website and have as many satisfactory transactions as most of the E-Bay membership does, I'm not sure how big the problems are. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

My eBay experience has been favorable for the most part. Any problems have been with other people, not with the system. I have forwarded complaints and suggestions. All I've gotten back is form letters thanking me for writing.

my suggestion to to check out www.squaretrade.com

If you have been screwed by a seller, or if you have sold something and the buyer posted negati8ve feedback on you without cause, you can open up a mediation case through square trade to resolve the issue.
