A Few of My Favorite Things

--The Chicago skyline....wow

--The view of Victoria Harbour from the Peak......holy crap

--Bringing cheesesteaks back from Philly....thanks hon

--Walking along Park Ave on a beautiful Spring afternoon.....

--Wandering the galleries of the Metropolitan Museum on a
muggy June afternoon as a thunderstorm rolls in...oo, la la

--My Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong CD....swing it, Ella

--Wandering rue Ste Catherine at 3am in a drunken stupor trying to find Ben's....practiquement tous les montréalais sont gais?

As per the "Sound of Music" these are a few of my favorite things, things I think of when I'm feeling down. What are a few of yours?

Chilly, dawning October morning on the edge of a bottomland hardwood forest. Dim outline of a few fox squirrels against the sky, fussing about, high in a cow oak. My .22, cleaned, well-sighted and at the ready, waiting for just a bit more light.

reading the paper and finding a nuke hasn’t gone off somewhere

spending time in the woods

hiking

skiing in a blizzard

riding my bike on dry, wet and ice covered roads

hanging out with my cats

playing with computers

going someplace in the Mercedes

mercedesshop.com

and those rarest of moments when I can actually get a good tone out of my flute

Tied up to the dock at sunset, eating a bowl of Brown Stew, after a day of sailing.

A young couple with their baby, being good parents.

Gazing down the Devil’s Backbone in Utah

A Bighorn grazing in a meadow in the Teton’s – way down a fire trail.

Looking up at the clear summer sky, while soaking in a modified stock tank.

A well fed Kingsnake.

Drinking pure water.

Sitting at 60’ on a clear day, looking up at the smallish hull of a Workboat

Finally hooking a fish

Coyote pups frolicking

Occasional hats by Pete

A pint (or 4) of Badger beer (English Ale) with my best mates

The Dorset and Scottish countryside on a summer evening

Driving the Merc on a sunny day with the sunroof open, Grandaddy on the wireless & my gal by my side and not complaining...

Fixing something on the Merc and knowing I've saved myself $$'s

The New York skyline when approaching the city

A big 'ole steak, medium rare with lots of chips

Hitting an open 'D' chord on my Fender Tele, with plenty of distortion

My best-friend's 3-year old daughter doing her smiley face- kills me every time...

Looking at the sunset from my family room and think of the pleasant past.

Crusing down PCH aimlessly

Riding bicycle around town in Key West

Flying across country in 1st class in the evening with a filet mignon (pre-9/11 days) - window seat

Anchoring out in the Chesapeake Bay on any lazy weekend

Strolling around Historic Chestertown

A shot of single malt, 25 year old and up

Hiking around Lake Tahoe or Yosemite

Cruise ship

1. Playing keyboards with the band and doing a 16-measure rocking Hammond B3 solo!

2. Playing bass with the band and having to play a song rife with bass thumps and 16th-note riffs!

3. Playing bass with the band and having my daughter in front of me playing second-keyboard! Dang, that girl can play!

I'm easy to please!

Excellent taste narwhal! "Lilette" - Train is excellent also just a short walk up St. Charles. Hotels, fond of the Ambassador and Royal Sonesta.
