dry rot
Hey folks,
The front tire on my Suzuki is only two years old and there is still plenty of tread on it, however in between the tread there are small cracks. Does this sound like dry rot? How do I avoid it in the future? How likely is it that the tire will blow out or otherwise fail or deflate? Thanks, CDT

Had 2 tire blow-out in my folks motorhome about 8 years ago, going across Idaho in the summer. The tires weren't that old and had lot's of tread. I learned then not to trust tires that have been sitting out doors, on a vehicle that doesn't get driven much. If you have a vehicle you don't drive much, keep the tires out of the sun. Cover them up, or keep the vehicle in a garage. Even then after so many years tires can become unsusable.
