After we came out with our Sportline suspension kit for W124's several people have inquired about a similar kit for 210's.
Well, we've done the research and here's the scoop: We can provide all of the OE AMG parts to convert your 210 sedan to E55 suspension specs. This includes: Front Springs Front Shocks Front Torsion Bar Front Bushings Rear Springs Rear Shocks Rear Torsion Bar Rear Bushings We can special order these items from Germany on an order by order basis. The price would be around $2,050 + shipping. Let us know if interested. ------------------ Bill Wood - Webmaster MercedesShop.com, LLC |

Bill,
It's good to know that Mercedesshop.com provides the AMG suspension kits for the W210. I have a few questions: 1) Are the provided bushings made of rubber or the good polystuff? 2) Are there Torsion bars on the E430? 3) Are sway bars available? 4) Do these parts come with a warranty? I know the E55's shocks are built by Bilstein. I believe Bilsteins come with a lifetime warranty. Would this apply to the AMG shocks? Thanks (Sorry to burden you with these questions). Eric |

Bill,
I have a plan and need some help / technical expertise. Now that Mercedes has gotten their act together and is finally building an E55 AMG 4MATIC Wagon, I'm interested in taking advantage of their research and upgrading the suspension of my 4MATIC Wagon. I noticed you have put together a kit to convert a 210 to a E55 suspension. I'm interested in a kit to convert my 4MATIC Wagon to a E55 4MATIC Wagon, and have the following questions: 1. Will I need to change the self-leveling suspension shocks in the rear? 2. Is there going to be any problems fitting parts from a 2000 to a 1999? 3. What is the difference between the 1999 E320 4MATIC transmission/transfer case and the US 2000 E430 transmission/transfer case? How does the US version E430 4MATIC transmission/transfer case differ from the E55 4MATIC transmission/transfer case - are they the same? 4. What size tire is on the E55 4MATIC? Are they running the same size on all four corners due to the 4MATIC? 5. I'm interested in the identical parts as on the E55 4MATIC not just the parts to create a sportline suspension. I think you guys are doing a great job with this site and appreciate you taking the time to research the conversion for me. Thanks David |

jeneric21-
I can't really answer all your questions. Perhaps one of the Techs can. To determine what was needed for the E55 conversion we got a copy of the Mercedes microfiche for the E430 and the E55. We identified all part numbers that were different in the suspension. All I can tell you about the bushings is that they are exactly the same as the ones that come from AMG on the E55. We are sourcing our parts from Mercedes. As far as warrany is concerned, we offer a 1 year warranty on all of our mechanical parts. David- We have not done any research for an E55 4MATIC Wagon conversion. We don't have the microfiche for it. Unfortunately, I don't know the answers to any of your questions. BRABUS has a conversion for your car that you might look into. ------------------ Bill Wood - Webmaster MercedesShop.com, LLC |

I assume that a "torsion bar" is the same as a "sway bar"? Correct?

Bill, do you know if the E55 Suspension parts fit on a CLK430? I'm interested in this setup.

I don't think the E55 parts will work because the CLK is based on the C-Class. Once the CLK 55 comes to the US, we will try to get the microfiche and determine what is needed.

Suspension height can be adjusted with the various W210 spring pads. What size front/rear Spring Pads are OEM on the E55? What size pads would be recommended with the E55 Suspension Conversion Kit. Thanks.

Here are the spring pads that come stock on the E55:
FRONT 210 321 02 84 9 mm 210 321 03 84 13 mm 210 321 04 84 17 mm 210 321 05 84 21 mm REAR 210 325 01 84 5 mm 210 325 02 84 9 mm 210 325 03 84 13 mm 210 325 04 84 17 mm As usual, Mercedes has a ride height spec that they must meet in production. They use whichever pads they need to arrive at that ride height. ------------------ Bill Wood - Webmaster MercedesShop.com, LLC |
