SLK32 supercharger
Does anyone think it feasible to mount the V6 SLK 32 Supercharger on the I6 104? Of course anything can be done, but the thing is they're real cheap on ebay, and since its bigger and the same price as the little ones, i figure why not just get the good one. Its set up obviously for a v-engine but I dunno much about it, i never kompressed anything.
Are the intake manifold deals on the sides just for mounting, or do they serve a real purpose? |

careful using a supercharger that was part of the engine design. that V engine probably has a lower compression ratio than the one in your car. i would err on the side of caution and use the smaller supercharger since it would mean it blows less PSI throught your engine.
unless you are planning on reducing your compressino to accomodate a blower.

Yeah, i was gonna do the whole deal on the thing, with the gaskets and pistons, valves, bore, etc. I figure with about 10:1 its gonna require some compression drop for just about any usable boost.

supercharges
The benz v6 supercharger body is cast to be part of the intake manifold, it probably wouldn't be the best pick... an eaton m62 off a ford t-bird sc coupe or gm 3800sc (same as the benz sc but different body) would be A LOT easier to fit along side the m104 and would have the same output as the benz m62. You would need to do considerable bottom end work on an m104 to bring the compression down to 9:1 or below.

Your M104 project
Austin:
Have you made any progress on your blower project for the M104? I'm at the tailend of completing a blower install on my M104. I'm using a Rotrex SP/30-94 (www.rotrex.eu.com). I've fab'd the mounting bracket and all the inter-connecting pipe work myself. I plan on staying around 5-6 PSI to avoid any possible engine damage. These guys at TDI run in that range with no engine or ECU changes. (http://www.tdi-plc.com/Merc300Eclass.html) Best of luck to you

Oh yeah i havent gone anywhere yet. Christmas always dries me up, but i plan to get started pretty soon, right after school ends. If you could get pics that would be awesome of your set up Blown_M104, that sounds *****in.
Yeah, I think I came to the conclusion I didnt want to use the AMG 32 kompressor. I have never seen anybody use that type of supercharger on the 104 though? Its always centrifugal type.Or turbos. |

M104 upgrade
I'll send you a couple photos. I've got about $1200 tied up in the project and feel pretty good about the results. The car has always been fun to drive but now is a blast.
