Fuel Pressure Reg
Anybody done this? If so have you noticed that the car runs richer? Im looking at getting one for my 400e since it already has a "tap" on the fuel rail

90free400e,
Mods to your fuel pressure reg. won't do much unless you add more air. Although you can run a little rich and the fuel will have a cooling effect on the incoming air but this will only gain you maybe 3HP and will mess up your emmissions. Just remember, air = more HP. Fuel is just needed and most of the time, easily added. Adam

thats the thing. i have alot of air, and not enough fuel as my a/f ratio hit 14.7 : 1 most of the time and 14.9 at one point. I want to get it down to low 14's high 13's. I have removed my foglights and washers for direct ram air into the intake tubes.

Running high 13's will screw up your emissions ( primarily CO ), for sure. The idea of finding a little extra " passing power " is accomplished with an A/F ratio of high 12's, which again, the ECU should already be giving you. Increasing the rail pressure too high will also give you other problems, like poor idle, etc.

You need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. That way, you will not screw up your idle and it will only give you extra fuel when you are on the throttle.

14.7 is the stoicheometric level, but its not good for performance. Yea a rising fuel pressure reg is what i was talking about. Should i try and see if i could fit a universal one?

You should be able to fit a universal one.
