So nobody has a better intake system for the W124? For example with BMW M3's Bekkers has an intake system with 6 individual 50mm throttle bodies that you could tie to a cold air intake with K&N cone.
I'm thinking that the W124 could benifit from a must less restictive intake system. Do they make strut braces for 300E's, I ask this because I dont think one could fit with that large air filter housing. -Blizzak454 |

The intake on the M103 is well up to the task of feeding as much as as the engine can use as is. If you had a 3.6 tuner engine underhood then it would be time to do some intake work. K&N's will give you a more aggressive intake sound, but don't count on much more power. In most cases, you are just as well off to run brand new OEM filters on a regular basis. No strut tower braces for the 300E as the W124 is far stiffer than just about any stresses you will run accross on the street. If you are running in heavily modified SCCA classes where roll cages are a must that is a different story. On the street, the W124 is plenty stiff enough. (save the strut braces and whatnot for the NOPI ilk) If you really want to help handling the first place I'd recommend is switching to more aggressive wheels/tires. From there, a Sportline suspension conversion to take advantage of the increased grip the tires offer.
Hope this helps...Lee PS see reply to your other question in this forum. |
