I am looking for set of lowering springs for my 16v and been doing some on/off research on what is availailble for the W201 chassis. I am wondering has any one used Sparco lowering springs? I talked to the Sparco people today and he said it is still possible to get W201 springs. (I do not have the self-leveling suspension)Also does anyone have the AMG springs for the W201?Im looking for some fresh input about these springs and other brands such as H&R, Eibach etc.The two main questions are the usual. What kind of performance to expect, and how much did it lower the car?

Thanks
Mauro

I would recommend either Eibach or H&R springs. Of course, AMG is great but it may be a little firmer than the other two brands I mentioned. H&R comes with a lifetime warranty while Eibach is a 10-year.

Check out Tirerack's comparison between Eibach and H&R. Both are comparable. With regards to lowering, it will lower about 1" to 1 1/2". This also depends on the pad height change.

I hope this helps.

Here is a link for a price list on all the AMG products for our 16V's. The AMG lowering springs are there too. http://190revolution.homepage.com/sale/
there are also other things for sale on that page you may want to check out. Also, please sign the guestbook if you have yet to do so. I personally prefer the H&R's. Of course, that is my Biased opinion. However, I am happy w/ them. Here is a link for 190E's check out the Readers Rides section. http://190revolution.homepage.com
Good luck.
