The jett chip for the 190e 2.3 1987 is suppose to offer an increase 10-15 ponies of horsepower to the 8v engine.
Does anyone know if those chips really work?

I would think that you might have to send in the ECM, the chips are soldered on to the board I think.

Since there are seperate controls for fuel & ignition systems a "chip" does little or nothing on this type of car. Gains w/chips are made thru increasing fuel & timing, there are adjustments & "sensor" changes that can pick-up a few HPs.

The cis-e brain in your car really only controls cold start, lamdia and idle speed. We have tryed for years to rework the brains with several chip companies and we have tested AMG braines as well on the dyno and we have found little or no change. One of our biggest hp pulls was with the brain disconnected.
You will get better gains with the sensors like MB Doc stated and playing with the ignition or building a stroker motor.

Add 400-500 ohm resistor to coolant temp sensor on lead to CIS-E computer & 1000-1200 resistor to EZL lead. This should help the car a bit. W/O doing exhaust system mods there isn't too much more to do.
