I am reluctantly putting the 500e to bed for the winter. I have had the oil changed and all fluids are ok. I am putting the battery on trickle charge with a battery tender.
Should I remove the battery and store indoord or is it better to keep the cars electronics going?
Any other general hints??
BTW I got the car with 60k mi last summer in mint shape with full books and records for $28k .

fill it with gas.

You definately want to fill the tank. Some people believe the gas goes bad but if you want, you can add a fuel stabilizer. If you leave the tank empty, moisture can gather. If you don't plan on touching the car until spring you may want to think about jacking the car up to avoid flat spots in your tires. Your best bet is to drive the car once a month or every two weeks for a short distance or until it heats up to normal operating conditions. Congratulations on your purchase!Hope this helps.

Yes, I always use Stabil in winter here. I put it in the other cars and in the lawnmowers etc. I find it makes a big difference, no gummed up carbs next spring and no $50 trips to the shop to fix them!
Tank is full, btw.
If the wx is mild and the roads clear I will probably take an occasional spin, but up here I can have unexpected lake effect snow at any time,
Best wishes.

if you dont want to jack the car up, just roll it on the tires a bit that should help with the tires as far as flat spots go.
