I've a new track car under construction so time taken there. Had to repair the tranny on my DD as the manual would take so much time. Driving all the NASA-SE time trial events and won TTR for the last two years and now aiming for a threepeet! And still have a kit car to build that has sat in the shop for almost 8 years now.
As soon as the new car is on track, the 354" 190 will go up for sale. The car now has 275-40/17 Hoosier A6 tires on it with 13" brakes front and 12" rear.
The bored/stroked motor has not had any problems for the last 2.5 years and run about 13-16 weekends a year. The car is a hoot and Vettes hate it!!

I'm still interested, just waiting for Alain (or anyone) to offer an adapter plate.

"some mods improve your car and make it into something it never was, other mods, however, although essentially the same, are not, and make that car a ricer"

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

Peter,
Not by me anyway, still trying to get the new car ready. Prior posts still retain good information of using an old AT case for a bellhousing. I say this because it can be cut and placed on a milling machine easier and more accurately than trying to convert a BMW or other case that has the bellhousing as part of the tranny....like a Getrag. Shifting can be hard and pilot bearings take a beating if the input shaft is incorrectly aligned to the crankshaft and this method rectifies that. Plus using a separate bellhousing makes working on it that much easier, trust me!

For the doubtful posters on here....there are pictures from ke6dcj (Neil) on his posts that have many pictures of my 190/5.8. There have been more updates done such as 4 piston, 12" rear brakes which retain the OE E brake,
brake cooling ducts in the headlight openings, rear spoiler, etc.

Not sure where this trans conversion went, but I have a junky M119 auto transmission I will happily donate to the cause.

Anyone know a good machine shop that can make an adapter?

David et al -

I have an extra tranny too ... and my friendly neighbor has a M119 block to use as well. As soon as work levels off and finances creep back up, the project will continue.

wow, been a long time since I came by here.
I gave up on this project about 5 years ago.

First my friend (contact) at the manufacturing facility passed away.
Then I started my own business and have been busy with that ever since.

Also, I don't believe there is enough of a market to justify the expense of making the bellhousing and related parts.

This is the same dillemma the plagues the 190e 16v guys.
There are still a few "enthusiast" owners out there, but not enough to justify the production costs of fabricating new custom parts.

That being said. My "cure" for wanting to have a manual trans in my 500e was to just buy a 190 16v and drive it when the mood to do "spirited" driving hits me.

I believe I actually have less invested in the 16v 190 than I would have spent doing a manual conversion on the 500e,,,,Aaaaand I got to add yet another car to my stable,,,,
so it was a "win-win" situation.
