My friend got a g-tech for his birthday and we decided to try it out. He has a 95 M3/2 (manual) and we did a few runs. Here were the conditions.
about 90 degrees F flat surface both our cars had full gas tank his m3 with me and him in seats (350 lbs) 0-60: 5.7 seconds my 87 300E with another friend in the backseat (500 lbs) 0-60: 7.76 seconds We were gonna do more runs with no passengers but it was too scary (cops) Anyway, I hope that proves to show that the 300Es sure as hell aren't slower than Tauruses. Maybe I'll find someone's Taurus to gtech too =) Bye! ------------------ Phil Ly 1987 300E Midnight Blue Remus Sport Exhaust Clear corners AMG 17in Monoblock IIs (hopefully soon) Eibach Lowering Springs |

quote: OK Clinton... don't get any ideas...they are tin cans...albeit very hot tin cans. I'll take a Clk anyday, or a 2.3-16...or any AMG car. Actually I'll take any new Benz, or cherry older benz. Don't get sucked into the BMW mentality. LOL just kidding. |

hehe, oh don't worry. I'd rather have a CLK anyday as well. BMW's just don't have the "look" that Benz's do. And they sure don't get the "looks" that Benz's do either. I'm going to keep my 16V for a long while and I'm going to beef it up plenty to have those M3's in my rearview mirror when desired.

Speaking of M3s, I finally got a chance to take one on in my C36 the other day. Guy didn't have a chance...

I've had a G-Tech on a C36 under a variety of conditions.
0-60: 5.5-6.3 depending on conditions. Average run is just under the six second mark. 1/4 mile: 13.9@104.1 to 14.5@98mph. Your average blast is in the very low 14's. 14.1-14.3. 60-0 braking was in the 112-114 range. Above numbers for 95' C36, 68K miles, bone stock, S-02 PP tires, 200lb driver, some random stuff in the car, 2/3rds or better tank of gas, etc. Each additional full sized person I add seems to drop times by about .2-.3 secs. Hope this helps...Lee |
