Ok, well it seems that keeping the car lowered and the new shock struts, all added up to about 3/4" of a dip up front. Well it seems my mother was driving the car, and our neighborhood still doesn't have the road finsihed. The sewer covers protrude the ground about 5", so I think she was speeding, and took out something underneath.
Took it to the dealer, and everything from the radiator and fan belts have been pushed back. I need: New Transmission Cooler Lines. Fan Shroud. Belts. Radiator and the Radiator Mount needs to be bent back. All and All, is there any posiblity to use, say a bigger radiator to keep the car cooler, say maybe from an 400E or C280 or something. Also, would it fit without modification, or is it best to just stick with the stock 190E 2.6 radiator, or likewise. Also, anybody know what the prices might be for these parts, and If I can get them cheaper through somewhere else? Thanxs for your help.

Chiraq:
Someone on this forum about a year ago really was happy with a "high performance" all aluminum radiator from here http://www.fluidyne.com/ As I recall, he said the product wasn't listed on the web page, but was made for the car by one of their divisions Or, maybe someone more informed knows of a larger radiator from a different model, or a "desert" option radiator, or something similiar from MB. Good luck on the upgrade. [Edited by JCE on 12-14-2000 at 08:08 PM]

Fluidyne is the one I mentioned I had made for my 190/5.0 to keep it cool. It is a triple section or serpentine unit so the water passes across three times with the necks in the correct location. Mine cost about $375 without a tranny cooler as I used a remote unit for better efficiency. Glad I did as now the car is a five speed!
The radiator is a beautiful unit with a lot of engineering behind it and a very helpful sales staff. They have the mfg. plant in CA and an office in NC for NASCAR. Tobias MB C280Sport, 300CE, 400E, 190/5.66! |
