Dyno - ESP question

I went to a dynapack dyno, which check the power to each wheel individually. I got really low number from my stock engine.

W202 C230k 2000

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the ESP when you push the button to put it off, it just stops caring about the speed difference between front and right but still check the difference in speed from the right to left rear wheels. That would explain the low numbers I got on the dynapack-type dyno. On a regular dyno where both rear wheels are connected to a roller, this wouldn't ahppen because bboth rear wheels would turn at the same speed.

The other thing that makes me thing this, is that on the W203 (2003+) you still have the ESP button on the center console, but on top of that, you can put the computer in dyno mode through the menus in the cluster screen. That would mean the is a dyno mode and an "esp off" mode which arenT' the same.

Can someone that knows MB technical stuff confirm?

Thanks

Etienne

Did you get around 145 to 150 to the wheels?

Does holding the ESP button down for 5-10 secs disable it more? (Like on a BMW).

Or you could try disconnecting a wheel speed sensor, which should introduce a fault and the ESP/ABS will disable themselves completely.

dyno mode is totally different from the "esp off" button on the dash.

dyno mode means that esp, asr, abs, bas are not activated

"esp off" only means that esp is off, asr and all the other systems are still active. i think, but cannot really confirm, that esp is actually still on but at a higher limit...
