Does anybody know of any aftermarket products for improving performance on the 6 cylinder 2.6 engine in a 190E?

I've seen www.supersprintna.com listed & they do sell headers for some Mercedes, not sure about 190E 2.6. Performance exhaust systems are also avail. Also several companies list camshafts for Mercedes.

You could do a search on this topic right here on mercedesshop.com

I've asked before.

There's a supercharger available (search the threads). But it's $6+k.

As Lee says: get a bigger motor. Trade up. Don't stop until you get a 500...

These cars can be made to handle incredibly well (thanks to a stiff frame and all the right original geometry). Addition of a sportline suspension (and fatter roll/sway bars), plus anything but oem wheels and tires will immensely help.

Brakes from a 400/420 will let you get deeper into corners than HP-blessed rivals - which is fun and ultimately looks more civil - and anything with more stopping power is safer.

Other than that, better seating, a quick-ratio steering kit or NOS are about all you can do.

Don't get me wrong, you can gut the cats, add a new exhaust, modify air intake, etc etc, but fact remains that all these improvements combined might get you 7 more hp out of the 4500-redline band.

And there's no chip available, so probably better to make it something you don't have to slow down in...

My two cents.
