500E FS on Ebay

Nice 500E FS on Ebay. No connection to seller, just passing it along. It looks identical to mine, even down to the AMG's.

Looks pretty nice. Does anyone know what the 500E's are geared at? Seems like you could really make em demons off the line by giving em a lower geared rear end.

Odd... He appears to be running 2 different sets of AMG wheels, 2 Monoblock II's on the driver side and 2 SL Sports on the passenger side. They run a 2.82 ratio for the question above.

With the ASR defeat switch installed, trust me, you wouldn't want a gear any taller than it already has. The beast was difficult to contain before installing the ASR defeat, now, fagetaboudit!
Even with the size meat that I wear, 275X35X18, it still squeals like a stuck pig. Just plain sinister if you ask me

Wow, those are some fat tires. Another question: Do they start in first gear or do you have to manually select that/stomp on the gas?

No, with all that muscle MB wisely decided to have the beast start out in 2nd.
There is an overrides for that and a few members have chosen to opt for that.
But all you have to do is click it down or stomp on it and all hell breaks loose

Not one, but three for sale

THREE 500E's on eBay now. Wide variety to choose from with regard to mileage (mine is the highest mile one).

Why? Good question.

I've driven it for 160,000 over 6 1/2 years. Longest I've ever kept a car (I sold a 190E at 238,000). I'm thinking of buying a new (or much newer) vehicle with a warranty, and trading after 90K miles, instead of driving them so long. Family and business demands limit the amount of time I can spend on a vehicle.

However, if the market tells me it isn't worth anything, I will keep it...either as a continued daily driver, or maybe a track car.
