On a couple of occasions my 500e has had an intermittent misfire at low rpm that cleared up at high rpm, and then went away. It felt like a fouled plug, but The plugs are almost new and look clean.
Any ideas about where to start looking, maybe look for a stored code or check the distributor caps etc.?

If your caps/rotors have not been done, that'd be a great place to start as they've been upgraded and fail commonly.

If the problem persists, next step would be to look for codes.

Keep us advised, and good luck!

If Michael's suggestion on the distributor cap is not the problem, you might check the following, While I am in no way a qualified tech, I have been told it is possible for the insulation to breakdown on the wiring harness that runs underneath the air filter area on the 119 motors and that can result in intermittent misfiring. It may show up as a Cam shaft Position Sensor code fault.

Best of Luck

Thanks for the suggestions. When the snow and salt are no longer with us I plan to investigate further
