Turbocharger Sizing
I want to come to a conclusion on this issue that I am having with turbocharger sizing. If I was to turbocharge a 300E 3.0L engine what size turbine housing should I use if I am using a T3/T4 turbocharger. I have a 0.48 a/r right now, and I think thats going to be too small for the 3.0L engine. Can anyone offer me any tips? Should I move up to a .63 or a .82? I am looking to make some power. I have read through the 300E turbocharging thread and didn't really get a clear impression of what I should use. Turbine housing sizes of .48 and .63 were both mensioned. Can anyone help me out?

You might write and ask TDI http://www.tdi-plc.com/Merc300Eclass.html what they use. They actually use a biturbo setup but may have some input. Or ask someone with a mk III supra, as they too use a 3.0 litre engine and a single turbo.

I have gotten some good input from the Grassroots Motorsports forum. A lot of guys gave me links to Supra turbo pages because they have similar size engines. It sounds like I am going to go with a T4 setup. I am looking on ebay and seeing whats on there at a decent price that will fit my setup. A lot of guys told me that I would get good results from stock supra turbos if I wanted something cheap. Thats probably an good option.
