What are the lowest spring pads I can get for my 1988 MB 260E (authentic MB preferably)? How much will they lower the car by? Do they have any adverse effects? How much do they cost?

There was a lot of discussion on spring pads about a year ago - you might try searching "spring pads 300E" or "spring pads w124". If I recall the consensus was that the thinnest pad could be used on the front, and the second thinnest in the rear. There was only about 1/4" thickness difference between the thickest and thinnest pads, if I recall correctly (about the difference between tires with new tread or mostly worn tread?). Good luck.
