I've read in this forum that some of the 190E 2.6's came with a manual gearbox.

What Gearbox was it? Was it also used in another model? Would the pedal assembly be the same from a 2.3L model?

Anyone have any experience here?

I have tools and I'm not afraid to use them!!!

Yes the 190E's came with 5-speed manual g/box. MB builds their own box, except for the 16V. Pedal assembly from any 190E will work. Of course you need all related parts to swap
to stick box! Driveshaft, flywheel, shifter & more; best way is to have donor car!

The transmission in the 16V is made by Getrag.

I understand the pedal assembly is the same as all the other cars. Are they hydraulic or cable? Are the driveshafts and trans mounts the same for manual or auto 2.6L?

What a different car the 2.6L would be with a manual shift instead of the luxury feel automatic!

The clutches in the 16V and 300E are hydraulic. Can't help you on the driveshafts or mounts.
