check out the finish on this wheel mounted to a W210, what would one call it?

Link please!! Do you think they took it off and powder coated it? Looks real good. I think the wheel is Magnesium, very popular in Japan.

The site is http://www.bim-cs.com/ . They show 3 different finishes for this wheel. If they didn't powdercoat it, I bet they just clearcoated over the brake dust

hey guys,

I got the pictures from the Tokyo Auto Salon 2001 found here:

http://ascii24.aleph.co.jp/auto-salon2001/

I think the wheels in my picture are the "Version R Special" and not the "Version R", since the onces in the picture are multi-piece, instead of the single-piece. The finish on the Special is definitely not powercoat...some sorta metal...dunno what it is...can somebody translate for us? It definitely has that sorta nice dark tint to it...and these wheels has a resemblance to our beloved Evolution II's, don't they? I wonder where we could shop for them...

Duck,
You can go to the site that JCE posted above to shop for the wheels. It's a cool site. Yes, these resemble the EVO's but I like how these are even more shinny. I like black wheels with that high shine, otherwise it just looks dirty.

ScottyC190E,

I agree, I like the shiny black metal look, instead of the powdercoated look...however, those BBS's I posted WAY above are powdercoated, and they have a shiny tint to it...if the EVO II Titanium's have that same shiny tint, I would love 'em. I hope they are not unshiny titanium finish.

OH THOSE BENZES ARE TO SICK

Did you guys see the 600sel on the last page (part4) of that Japanese website? Those guys can put us Americans to shame. What type of front bumper is that on those 300`s? How can we get it/where do we get it/ what about the back bumper? To much question to ask about that car at the top of this post. This one needs A BENZ EXPERT(just kidding guys) but you have to admit those are some of the SICKEST We have seen. (at lease in the Tri State area)

That 600SEL is prospeed's car. Go to their site at http://www.prospeed.co.jp/top.htm and then go to demo car BENZ 140 Maybe you can order parts from them. Hehe, glad to see someone else is checking these great rides out. I don't know how they do it, but they do it right. They have HUGE stores over there that JUST sell modifications right off the shelf for many cars. I guess if I had a pile of money, time, and lot's of tech knowledge I could do the same damn thing. :p Doesn't keep me from keeping up with the style on my car though. I get so many ideas for my car through their sites. Later! Scott

Translater needed

Scotty those are beautiful kits. Now if we can get someone to understand japanese on this site maybe it,s possible we can get thes parts over here, or maybe there,s even a direct dealer in the us for these japanese parts. I`m for one won`t mind saving up for a bumper like the one on that black 300 on the first page of this thread. If i have to buy one piece at a time i`m sure it,s worth the stare from those BIG BLOCK owners. They just don`t have the lines.

Hey guys,

Do you guys remember the 3-piece AMG Aeros that came in 17X7.5 especially for the W124's? What ever happened to 'em? I saw them at the M-B dealership in Vancouver on W. Broadway, but I don't see 'em being sold online or anywhere anymore? They are outta production? What do you guys think? Better than titanium-finish EVO II's? This is the "original" M-B hotrod look I think, AMG 3-piece Aero's:

This is from http://www.performances.com , the last AMG retailer other than the actual M-B dealerships, conveniently located in Vancouver. Check out their specials...nice prices!!!

Personally I never liked the two or 3 piece designs. Not the style of the wheel, btu all those little allen bolts just don't look right to me.

I like my wheels to have a smooth look. the nuts to me look rough.

Looking at that pic, I think the AMG body kit looks amazingly good. definately the one I think I will do on my car at some point.

I just want to comment on japanese mercedes.I think they're all beautiful.I live in japan for 5 years and i notice that the Amg product is much cheaper there compare here (US)and i think all japanese mercedes are european version they are right hand drive and they use km instead of miles ,did you guys notice that they all have a side marker(blinkers). And you can make any modification you want on your mercedes because the labor is cheap and there's no such thing as legal or illegel or dot approved thing..

That is true. At least I am a little more understanding about how they can afford to do so much to their cars. Although I too lived in Japan for four years and noticed that everything was more expensive than here, but NOT for european products such as German aftermarket.
