The members of Mercedes Benz Club of America have said that Techron is THE additive to use...I second this. I have used the product on my '91 300 SL, '95 320 E, '94 Lexus SC300 and have noticed a marked improvement. Has anyone else had luck with this additive? Any opinions pro or con?

Techron did virtually nothing to remove combustion chamber deposits in my 500E. However, BG's "44K" product eliminated it all! I'll only use BG fuel additives henceforth.

As a side note, BG 44K can be hard to track down.
This link may help if anyone is trying to buy some, http://www.bgprod.com/locator.html (wholesale distributor's list, so they may or maynot sell directly to the public, but they will usually locate a store local). Have a nice day. Ross [Edited by roas on 01-16-2001 at 02:55 PM] |

Michael,
Asked my mechanic about the procedure you used to get the BG stuff in. He said, although effective sometimes, he once saw a Benz V8 blow up that way. Just wanted to forewarn everyone else that bad stuff has been known to happen using that way. It may not, but I just wanted to let people know it could. Daniel
