You car has that fancy self leveling suspension (I'm pretty sure it was standard on te 560SEL) so any parts you replace should reflect that. I'm not sure what Bilstien has for lower, but if money is no object AMG has a whole kit especially designed for your car. They sell the suspension kit for your car for $2760 (Canadian dollars) in Canada and te spring kit for lowering is extra. Please let me know what you did and how it works out, I have been thinking about doing this myself. In Halifax there was a 560SEL that had been lowered and it looked pretty sleek. I don't know what parts they used, but I know it was an aftermarket shop that did it.

If ride is important you can probably lower your car just by removing the spring pads and use OE shocks. You can adjust the rear ride height just by adjusting the ride leveler controller.

BTW, Sachs makes HD shocks for your car with ride levelling.

Hey,

Interesting concept--adjusting the ride level on the 560. How does one go about doing this and what are the dangers? I'd be up for that--cheap and easy lowering and'd be reversible! Thanks.
