I'm changing my brake fluid preparing the 2.3-16 for Tri-O-Rama at Summit Point Raceway. My local supplier is out of stock of the Pentosin Super DOT4 German brake fluid that I've been using. Can I use Castrol GT LMA brake fluid in the 2.3-16?

I'll answer my own question. No. I just read the boiling point temp of the Castrol and it is significantly lower than the Pentosin. The last time I was at Summit Point I was behind a new Audi A4 that went off the end of the straight at about 130 mph because he lost his brakes.

Get some ATE "super blue DOT4 fluid"

I use it on all my racecars, the porsches I set up for club racing, and saw a guy using it in his viper coupe last weekend at the track.

I don't have the specs in front of me right now, but trust me,,,,,it's good stuff.

As you know, SP really tests your brakes!! Like Alain, I'd use the ATE super blue or gold. Both have the same specs. It makes it easy to flush out the system cause both are different colors. Another option is Motul 600. I'm running that stuff in my car now and used it at SP with no trouble at all. It has a slightly higher dry and wet boiling point than the ATE. Also, remember to bring a spare set of pads too.
And, FYI, while I was at the track last time, a VERY EXPERIENCED driver in a Mustang died at turn one. His front brake line separated from the fitting and he lost his brakes (and unfortunately his life) at 140MPH.

Check your brake lines, have fun and
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

PS what's the date of the event? I'm planning to go to another track event this year-maybe this one if I can....

Oe type of fluid has wet boiling temp of 170-180C deg. Find a fluid with at least 200C wet boiling temp.
