Hi All,
I just searched thru the entire Forum for discussion regarding SPAX (www.spax.co.uk) suspension kits. NOPI sells the W124 kit (shocks + springs) for $670 shiped to your door. This would be cheaper than buying Konis + Eibachs. I've also considered going 50% Sportline (springs/shocks/sway bar) but the Sportline setup isn't aggressive enough for my taste.

So, does anybody have the SPAX PSX kit on their W124? Any British members like to comment? TIA!

Tony

I went the Bilstein Sport/Eibach route. Shocks costs me around $400.00 for set of four from a company named McNeil (I think). Springs were another $300 and spring pads were $5 apiece. Did install my self in about a day (with some help from my frinds at budwieser). Effectively lowered car about an 1.5" rear and about 1" up front. IMHO front still rides too high. The car looks like I have five people in back seat and two more bodies in the trunk.

Man, you ask 1 thing, and ppl digress like a Gore/Bush debate. =)
Already tried shox.com . Their Bilstein price is higher than MacNeils. Their Eibach price is higher than my local rice shops. Adding the lowest priced Eibachs (~ $250) and the lowest priced Bilstein Sports ($400) + shipping would be higher than the SPAX @ $670 to my door.

Once again, has ANYBODY used SPAX before??? TIA!!!

I HAVE USED SPAX ON A VW CORRADO VR6 I HAD. THE RIDE WAS TERRIBLE AND THE STRUTS ARE BASICALLY MADE FOR REGULAR TO SPORTY DRIVING - WHEN I SUBJECTED THEM TO DRAGGING AND AUTO CROSSING THEY DID NOT PERFORM WELL AT ALL. WHEN I SWITCHED TO EIBACH AND BILSTEINS THIS PAST YEAR - BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE - YOU GET THEM SAME LOWERED LOOK AS THE SPAX, BUT THE RIDE AND HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS ARE MUCH BETTER.

FOR MY 300CE I DECIDED TO GO WITH THE SAME SET UP - EIBACH AND BILSTEIN SPORTS. LOOKS GOOD (BETTER THAN STOCK) AND RIDES GREAT FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE YOU WILL FIND THAT SPAX WILL NOT SATISFY YOUR PERFORMANCE CRAVINGS.

MY ADVICE, GO WITH THE MORE ESTABLISHED, AS I HAVE - I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY 300 RACING LIKE MY CORRADO, BUT THE RIDE IS MUCH BETTER THAN STOCK, AND YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO USE SPAX EVER AGAIN.
