I have a new fad that I sort of started in L.A. It looks really nice on the right MBZ. It says "Mercedes Benz," on one long emblem and does not have that stupid underline chrome like the early 90's 300E's, etc.
There is a company that makes a Chrome, Black Chrome or Gold plated emblem for your lic. plate frame itself which I bought alone without the plate and put it on the rear deck lid instead. Without the model emblem and only the star on the rear it looks really trick. One dealer actually asked me what model it was! (It was on our 190E)
To this day I have no idea why Benz never made an emblem that simply says Mercedes Benz. I left it off my Black 300 because it looked pimpish. The all black with chrome Lorinzers looks flashy enough. But on the wife's I put the gold Benz and a gold star on the rear only.
I constantly see people in Benz's and other makes alike do a double take, scratch heads and rubber neck when they see her car from the rear.
I didn't over do the gold on Burgundy by not adding gold on the front or anywhere else.
I also had a Chrome one on our former 190E that was dark metallic blue. It looked awesome. The company that has them is called Grand Prix in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa. #949 631-4555 or 949 645-5722. They also have a full line of rims and Harley Davidson acc. and clothes.
Guess what? They are only around $30!! They are heavy metal, 3-D and very high quality laser cut with 3M stick tape like OEM badges.
The dealer sometimes has them but they are about $10 more. The store is on Newport Blvd.

Thanks for the style tip. Man! You HAVE to post some pics of your cars or just e-mail them to me! They sound great in print but I would love to see pics. Later, Scott

First let me say I hope you all stay loyal to this great site and the shop that is behind it. These folks are top notch and have worked very hard to have this great site.
For those that ask for pix of our Benz and the emblem, rims, etc. I built a few pages on one of our companies sites so you can all BE SATISFIED!
Go to www.GrannyGumption.com
Scroll down the main page to the bottom. Below the "AddMe" logo is an invisible link button. Wait till your cursor turns into a hand and you'll have found it. It's called Our Secret Page. It has pix of some of our MBZ's. Now don't be buggin' me about pix anymore! Sigh. It also has pix of our favorite and unusual MBZ's and a link back to this site. Don't run around telling everyone about the secret page, I only added it so I don't have to keep e-mailing pix.
I hope you guys are spreading the word about MercedesShop to your friends and especially to the ones who don't YET have MBZ's!

Nice collection of cars you have there. What size tire/wheel package do you have on your wife's car?

Also, is your 1991 300E an actually Sportline model? Because as far as I knew, they didn't make them until 1992. I may be wrong though.

I want one of those chrome badges that say "Mercedes-Benz", does anyone know how I can get hold of one if I live in the UK?

It's definitely a Sport. I didn't even know until after I bought it. I noticed a week after that the steering wheel is much fatter than my wife’s, the suspension is different and it feels quicker. The seats are different too.

WHOA! hahahhahhahaha..... Late nite perusing of the forums half asleep in bed on my lap top, maybe its a sign that I should put the computer AWAY and get some sleep. LOL. Must have figured that it was relatively recent since it was on the first page of the forum, and the poster right before me had posted recently.

That said, I wonder if this shop still sells these emblems..... i'll have to call em. I did gooogle them and they are still listed. Who knows.... thanks for heads up MTI!

Cool Mercedes-Benz emblem

I have a black on black 1992 300-E sportine the previous owner removed the chrome number badge on the trunk. I personally preferr it this way . If you cann't idenify this car then you have to be bline to notice its a mercedes-Benz. I don't need to spell it out like American & Japanese cars do.

It says more by saying less.
