Upgraded Flex Disc

I am in the process of finishing up my turbo 190e and I am going to need to have a driveshaft made because I am using a different rear end for the car. I want to upgrade to a little beefier flex disc so that I don't just tear them up right away. Does anyone know of a thicker one that will bolt to a 190 transmission?

Hi Maddog,
I found a guy a while back that said he would make me some using polyurethane. We didn't get into price but it didn't sound too expensive. I'll try to look up his info if your interested. I don't know if this it fact or not but the 500E flex-disc my be a little beefier than the 190's flex disc. I would imagine that Mercedes would have done this because the AMG Hammer was notorious for eating up flex discs.

Can you confirm if the bolt pattern is the same on the transmissions?

Exclamation

George, I have 2 new OE ones from my 16V racecar that you could have for $20 each. Would take a LONG time to destroy them!
A lot cheaper than a new shaft!

I know for sure that a e500 has this disc connected to the outcoming shaft with 4 bolts.
I think the 190 has 3 bolts on each side, so that you cant use a E500 disc.

When I dropped a 350 into my 116 SD I have a machinist friend make up some flex discs out of aluminum w/ steel inserts. Doesn't give much in the way of shock absorption but they sure did last and I beat the Snot out of that car..

MBDOC,
I have to have a custom driveshaft made anyways because I have a dana 44 rear differential in the car. I am just trying to figure out what would be the best flex disc to use between the transmission and driveshaft. I think I might only run one flex disc.

Anyone have any opinions or ideas?
