Does anyone have pictures of an 500E in Anthracite?

The W124.036 500E/E500 did not come in Anthracite ... in the U.S.A. (edited).

Black colors would be "Black" - paint code 040 and "Blue Black" or "Blau Schwartz" which are known in North America as Black Pearl, paint code 199.

Officially, the 500E was only available in the following colors:

zircon silver
pearl blue
pearl gray
smoke silver
impala brown
bornite
crystal green
beryl
malachite
almandine red
pajett red
anthracite gray
nautical blue
blue black

Other solid colors such as arctic white, black (040), signal red, brilliant silver, etc. were also available.

My neighbor has an anthracite 92 500E. It is his baby. Has really low miles and treats it with care. I rarely see it out but I am definite the color is anthracite.

Call me a skeptic, but I have never seen one (500E500 Anthracite) in the States.

Many people call the normal "pearl black" anthracite, but it isn't.

I have seen one true anthracite car, here in portland, that was for sale about 4 years ago.

Remember the '92 500E I almost bought in Malibu?

He also had a '94 E500 that I think was in anthracite gray. I have never seen that color before on another W124.

I guess I would describe it as a medium gray metallic. It was an absolutely beautiful color.

What color do you think it could be?
