How did you select your goal of 0-60 in under 5 sec.?

FWIW, if you are seeking real go-fast stuff, look into the current SL600, SL55 or SL65 as those could accommodate your goals....and then some.
The 0-60 in 5 goal came from having to beat my bosses new Mustang GT. It's really just a number. I think the V12 with 5 speed trans in a 107 with gears from an early 450SL might pull this off. I currently have a line on 2 107's. The 12 cylinder idea came about beacause a good used M120 and 5 speed trans is less than 1/2 the price of a new 7 liter vett engine and would be a non sacreligious installation.

Buddy, I feel your pain. My dad and I have come up with a plan to kick my dads friends mustang in the balls.

Bear in mind, this may be a bit sacriligeous for some people, but for the E500E crowd, it is normal practice. I discussed this a bit earlier here, but here it goes again. Get a nice 3.xx:1 rear end, and you should be down around 5.2-5.3 seconds. The, you need some lauging gas. (I'm serious)

Here is the laughing gas... http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=nos-05029nos
With that little boost, and that rear end, you should be able to kick your bosses mustang gt in the nuts. Think about it though. That would be the most cost effective way to get that little bit of powe to get you into the high 4's for 0-60.

Also, I think gerryvz has a 3:1 rear end or somewhere abouts in his SEC. Maybe that is where you should seek advice.

I belive that rear ends in the low 3's are not a problem for at least the 107's. I'm not sure if these are interchangable with 129's. I favor the 107 body style over the 129 but then I do like all the new gadgets in the 129's. In reality the MB rears are not too low when one considers the wide ratio transmissions in them. The optimum solution would be a higher rear with a closer ratio box.

One thing you have to remember when challanged by a Mustang from 0-60, is to also challange the Mustang from 60 to 120.

ah the trurth has finally come out! One wishes to best the mustang. If that were my goal I'd spend the money to supercharge the holy b-jebus out of a V8, preferrably the 5.6. A blown 5.6 would eat the V12 alive. I've never seen a M116/ M117 with a broken rod...ever. Seen a few V12 rods busted apart before. The V8 is the better engine seriously rock solid bottom end. By lowering the compression with some custom forged pistons you'd be able boost it very aggressively. Bring that to the table and you'll embarass that mustang. And he won't get to moan about the 12 being "unfair" If ya want to beat him, beat him with a V8 that way it's "legit".

The blower option has been a concept I'v been thingking about. And when I have the 5.6 engine sitting on an engine stand with nothing to do but stare at it, I just may decide to make up something like that. Do you know how much extra capacity I can get out of the CIS injection system.

But that would be a total hot rod. The V-12 is a gentlemens car.

Cool, but Im a little confused. It looks like you are running a centrifugal blower on the right but the air is directed from the left. Is there an intercooler in front of the radiator. How much boost are you running. What did you do about injector capacity. And of coarse you did put a Kompressor badge on the back right?

Yes, it has a large air to air intercooler up front. I'm running around 12 psi of boost. I adjusted the EHA to suppliment the fuel but I really need to switch to an EFI system for reliability , tuneability, and extra hp. Of course, it's got a Kompressor badge!
