What comes in MBZ is not a deal pedal. That is just a foot rest or padded fabric or a place to put your foot. A dead pedal is, well, a pedal, which is usually raised and made of plastic, metal or some material to match the other pedals. I have seen these mostly for BMW and never for MBZ. Here is a pic of a BMW 3 piece set with dead pedal on the left:

Is a dead pedal not a place to put your foot ?
I understand what you mean. It may not be a true "raised plactic or metal" dead pedal, but is is solid and properly shaped so as to provide the required bracing point for your left foot. I guess you could mount another one overtop but depending on the thisckness, it may become to close vs the other pedals. If you find something that looks and feels good let me know. So far I have no compaints about the stock setup. If I may ask, what do you find it lacks ?

I don't know of one, but I plan on taking my car to my machine shop and having him stamp out an aluminum pedal to place over the existing ones.

But I don't plan on doing that until after I have done other mods.

Its a last kind of touch up thing.

But if you could get a machinist to stamp out several for you, you could probablys ell em and make some money.

Need for Dead Pedal is...

The left (factory) foot rest area is NOT equidistant with the gas pedal and is therefore uncomfortable with the left leg extended further than the right. Additionally, the left foot area is not padded (only carpeted) and is beginning to show wear with only 20K. This is a poor feature or rather lack thereof. Aside from that the car is a dream.
