Talking AMG Information

I am looking to buy a 1999-2001 AMG e55. Are these models all the same as to engine performance ( hp), suspension, gearing, transmission? Is there a perffered year?

The 1999 E55 had a slightly different ground effects package, tail lights and interior appointments. It did not have the multi-function steering wheel. It also did not have the "Touch Shift" transmission.

The 2000-2002 E55s all had the "updated" AMG bodywork/ground effects, multi-function steering wheel and some other available options.

Engine output was the same throughout the models. My suggestion is to find the newest with the least mileage in top shape.

Good luck in your search!
