Steel Undercarriage for W202

I'm interested in finding the steel plated undercarriage for a 2000 C230k. MB of USA does not have it in their parts list. However, I have read that it is available in Europe and was curious if anyone could give me any leads?

THanks a bunch

WOW, Long time no see! Welcome back! Your question is funky, I'd imagine undercarrage panels are going to be hard to get/ship/install. What's wrong with yours??

I have one on the 190E.... I know the dealer can look them up and order them.. They don't like to because it is a "Euro" accessory. I dont have the EPC or Starfinder thingy, so I cant get the part number. I will call my local dealer tommorrow and see if they can give me a part number.

Lightbulb Yes I'm back!

Nice to hear from you too! Long time no "see."

Justin, if you could get those part numbers, that would be greatly appreciated. And perhaps I could even purchase it through your dealer?

The reason I am asking this question, Larry, is because I have damaged 3 crank cases on Mercedes. The first was an 'incident' I had when I was 17 in my Mom's 99 S420. That problem fixed itself?? THe second was the cracking of my crank-case on my 95 C280. The third was last year in my recently purchased 2000 C230k in July when I went over a very short, steep bridge and hit so hard I shattered my crankcase (my angle of approach was extreme)... and stupid me burnt out (SEIZED) the darn motor my driving home!

Anyways, 5000k for a new motor has finally brought the baby back to life (as has the $1800 stereo!).

Sure, the part numbers would be great!

There was a long discussion of Skid Plate for the 124 chassis

read post by Bob G who contacted a dealer in Orange Co. They were willing to help order one I believe. Its all up to your parts counter person, how hard they try to locate p/n. Contacting MB Germany is the easy part.
Steel belly pan for W124

I called the parts guy that I am cool with at my local dealer. He sad he would try to look up the part, but in the half hour I was on the phone with him he could not find it. He knows they exist, becasue I ordered the one on my 190E through him. He said he will call me if and when he finds it.

My parts guy wasn't in. He went on vacation. The guy they have working for him is a complete idiot. He didn't know what W202 was.

Oh Man. Welcome Back David! Long time no talk!

I remember one of the first mb meets I ever went to, down in newport. Met up with you, John, and a few others.

You have MIA for so long now I was wondering what happened to you!

I have to look through my book of records for the car.

And for those who want one for the W124, it is 124 520 31 42.
