W201 Carbon Fiber Parts!

Hello guys!
I am a usual members of 190revolution.net but occasional member here too!

I know that there is some owner of 190e in here and just wanted to let know that I am doing some High quality Carbon fiber Parts for 190e.

I am actually making some quality High Vacuum baging made Shifter Plate and Central tablet (between seat) parts for any model of 190E!

Those are made with professional vacuum equiment and high quality textile (layers of CF and FG). They are Clear Coated with a certain amount of layer to have a great resistance to UV and oxydation!
Each parts has its own ID for futur reference and I am opened to any special demande: like eliminating or ading some special hole for new button.

So here is some pics of what is offered:

Here is the shifter plate after the vacuum process:

The set of 2 (shifter plate and tablet) is at 90$
Or individually:
shifter Plate: 72$
Central tablet: 45$

AND I will deduce the price of shipping that you have to pay to ship youre shifter plate to use (To reproduce your configuration).

Those piece are not standard quality OverLay, but more some high quality ultra light CF real parts!

If you are interested PM me! 8)

Thanks!

Nice looking!

Are you also willing to make console pieces for other cars or just 190's?

I second that!!! at those prices I can get you some good business in the W124 croud. Your work and processes are very good. What kind of resin are you using? I can send you some 300E and 500E panels to get started on right away.
Thanks!

Thanks for the interest guys!
This is really encouraging me since this project is pretty new!

I see that the interest is more in other cars, I dont have any objection. But normally we plan 1 piece, do a prototype and offer it a determined price.

BUT, if those console panels are flat it wouldnt be a big change in the process of are actual shifter plate! I would only need:
-an estimate in the size of the panel
-1 pic of the panel, that you can send me to jeremie.labbe@polymtl.ca
-and if everything is ok, I will need your panel to replicate them, BUT I will be deducing the price of youre shipping to the total price

If you have some flat custom panel to do, dont hesitate and send me a pic, it will be a pleasure to see what we can do!

If its not a flat panel, we can still do it, but the process will change so It could require a bit more time before availabality (like 2-3 weeks)

If you have anything to suggest dont hesitate, I am listening

I am pondering between aluminum or CF for the door inserts. A bit larger, a lot actually, but flat. Do you think thats do-able?

Hello!

I just taked a look at youre parts:
The ash tray could be problematic, but I dont see the reverse side... If the adapter are to complexe, we will meaby be only able to make an overlay (but still quality vacuum baged overlay!)

For the other panel over of the console and for the big panel of the shifter I think It is possible!
In the worst case we would do some overlay, but I think some real CF Part is possible if we reuse some of the adaptores of youre stock Panels if you dont mind!

If you are still interested email me at :
jeremie.labbe@polymtl.ca

Hope having news from you!

The process

Is the process you're using similar to putting veneer onto a substrate? I was wondering about your requirement that the parts be flat. Is the CF layered with some type of adhesive and then "bagged down" with a vacuum press?

If this is the case, it seems like you might be able to build a form with the required curves in it to pull the panels down against. I have done this with veneer before and wondered if it would work with this process. Just an idea. I smell a new business here.

I understand you question!
In fact I was saying flat because some pieces are flat like the shifter plate, so we did in advance some CF plates, we just have to cut the surround form of the plate and finish it. But yes you are totally right, we can apply the process to complexe curve, we can do it yes, but we usually do a prototype test first to be sur that the piece is correctly mold, that is why it can require a bit more time to do but its possible like you said

Yes, it sure does!

One of those piecs appears to be somewhat angular rather than flat. What is the finishing process for this once the CF cloth(?) has been bonded together? Is is then sprayed with some type of finish to get a glassy surface?

I have seen pens (like the kind one writes with) made from CF. It appears that they are formed into something like a billet and then the final shape is created on a lathe. Is it possible to work CF like this?
