95 C36 120K Asking $11K. Reaction?

Someone locally is asking $11,000 for a 95 C36 with 120K miles. Bright red exterior/red interior. Brand new 18" AMG wheels/tires. 2nd owner is a mechanic (non-MB) and done his own work, but hasn't kept records on what he's done. He bought it 2 years ago with 70K miles.

Any comments? Thanks.

Red , not too many C36s in Red.

50K in miles in 2 years?...safe to say its been driven ! Beat him down a few grand and its a nice score IMO if it checks out OK by another mechanic.

Did you/can you run the VIN thru a dealer to see what was ever done at any dealer prior to this owner? Got CarFax too?

Yeah, I'm guessing not too many reds because it defeats the purpose of a stealth hot rod.

It's a negative for me, at least at my advanced age .... If it were silver, black, blue, or green I would be tempted.

Agreed it's too high.

Now the question is, what would be the right price? The fact that's it's local, I can test drive it here, and bring to my Indie for PPI are big positives. The color, mileage and lack of records are negatives.

Would $8500 - 9K be a fair price?

Oh yeah, other negs are that I don't need it and I don't have a place to put it.
