i am swapping in a 5 speed stick in place of my old 4 speed auto in my 1988 190E 2.3 . my question is what should i do with the kick down plug and the gear selector sensor plug that hooked to my auto? they both tie into to the main wiring harness . before i install the 5 speed i want to make sure that everything will work as it should . any advise at all would help greatly . thank you .

Just disconnect the auto trans wiring harness..

You will need to connect permanent jumper on the 2 wires for the safety neutral switch & if you want back-up lights connect the shifter switch
