Rotary?

I was just wasting time on wikipedia reading about the wankel rotary and wondered why it is so awesome. Then I thought that it should be in a mercedes and the only people that are crazy enough to do this are on this forum so I was wondering if anyone has thought of this and more importantly, tried this.

Rotary engines are awesome! Mercedes tried it with the C111 but it never caught on. Check it out!

I agree that rotary engines are awesome. My first car was an '85 RX-7, 5 speed, not overly fast, but swift and acceleration when I needed it.

Wankels wear out the rotor seals, and these need to be replaced before you snag one on a port. They won't go as far between rebuilds as MB owners would expect.

As they are ported engines, emissions were harder to control in the old days of that engine. Fuel economy was also a real problem at first. But these two issues are pretty much gone now, leaving only the first.
