" does it do? Is it safe for the car? Will it work for MB cars? Clauser1 |

My experience with water injection was in a turbo charged applicaton of a small 4 cylinder. Basically, it's used to cool the air/fuel charge to prevent detonation. It worked well in that regard...just had to make sure the water tank always had water. One of the units I used was made by Edelbrock, it monitored vacuum/boost and would inject water into the carburetor as boost increased. This was in a draw through turbo setup.
Some side benefits were cleaner intake ports and combustion chambers. Will it work for MB cars? Sure, but why are you considering it? Today's fuels with detergents do a decent job of keeping the top end clean. If you're having a detonation problem it would be better to find out why rather than to try to fix the symptom. |

Glen,
I was just curious because I asked my mechanic why is that my car run so good when the weather is foggy and cool, comppare when its hot & humid. His explanation was,the air density is so great& cools the cyl.head combustion chamber. He said if I want, He can install a water injection. I said let me do some research first. Clauser1 |
