E500 rear sway bar to 124 wagon problems?
Hi, I tried to fit the 500 rear bar to my 1991 300TE at the weekend but found the diff hump on the new bar collides with the stengthening rib on the SLS valve bracket! The EPC shows a different part for the 036 models 1243281240 verses 1243281340 as listed for my car, the 500 type is also listed for all facelift 93MY on wagons also. Does anyone know if this is a direct swap for the early bracket and will it solve my clearence issue? Thanks Linds

I can't say for sure on the 91, but it fit my 95 perfectly with no problems.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, it looks like any late wagon should have the same bracket as the 500. Weather this will fit a pre 93 wagon is the problem, the part is'nt too expensive is just such bum job to change= SLS fluid to drain, pipes to R&R etc. Regards Linds

Didn't drain any fluids or get into much of a hassle. Just lower the rear subframe enough to let the bar clear and go to it. Took less than an hour on our lift.

No I mean the bracket for the SLS valve, the pipework passes through the bracket , so the fluid has to be drained to change to the newer type bracket. Anyone know if the late bracket fits the earlier wagon? Regards Linds
