Well, I'd be interested to see it if you do make one for an M117.

Is your Throttle butterfly located before the Box on the intake, and is it electronically servo controlled? How big is the intake, and where did u get the parts for the Throttle/servo ect and is it reliable?

I am planing to supercharge my Engine much like what a guy named Robert Kispalko has already done to his C107 M117 engined car due to lack of engine room in the 107s lol. He knows you i think, tho u both seem to have different loves in Turbo vrs Supercharging.

His car is on http://ozbenz.net/viewforum.php?f=13 forums, He is Supercharger and the posts are quite easy to find, he just completed the 450SLC 500 SC, and decided it wasn't big enough so is now doing a 450SLC 560 SC....

About the intake manifold:

I use 80mm Wilso racing throttle body
For the servo I machined the aluminum nut i weld under the plenum to conect stock fitting.
Plenum is about 5,5 liters

PUMPISH, I was curious what you thing the differences are on the m104 that makes it weaker. Pistons, rods, block, etc. What is the weak point. I was going to go with a thicker headgasket on my car and go for more timing and more boost in the future. The rods and crank seem the same on the m104 and m103. I even transferred rods and crank out of the cis-e m104 which is a m103 block to a c280 m104 for a 3.2l stroke.
Any way just looking for some info that maybe I am missing.

Its the aluminum DOHC head. The iron block to aluminum head config makes headgaskets more vurnerable than normal, even more so since its a I6. The M104's have a history of headgasket problems because the two materials cool at different rates. If you could stud the head and install a thicker gasket(they do make them for the m104) the motor will be a lot stronger.

The m103 has a aluminum head also. The gaskets are almost identical.
The only differences in the block I can see are that there is a casting relief where the main journals triangulate. Pistons appear to be close.
104 and 103 both leak.
By the way how much boost are you running now Turbo e320?

Then it would be the lighter, easier to lift DOHC head.

I am running 9psi now. The tires will burn up to 40 when rolling. The injectors are getting taxxed though. Im at 84% duty cycle in some cases.

Not sure what you mean. The m103 is a single cam motor.
I just caught that you mentioned thicker head gasket in your previous post.
Have you found this and where?
I am running 9 lbs also at this time and would like to go more but need to lower compression. I have been looking into a copper head gasket or a Cometic steel gasket.

A guy named Scott Blood makes steel cosmetic spacer types up to .075" thick. sablood@accessus.net is his email

What I mean by the DOHC head being lighter is that under the pressure of boost it will more easily lift it and blow a headgasket. Also the stock compression being higher doesnt help much . Also there is another supercharged m104 that runs 12psi with the aid of water injection. He is 30K miles up on his setup I believe and still going strong at 178K+ miles. No engine/tranny modification at all.

Thanks for the info on the gasket.
I do not want to run water meth. injection. I know you can run a lot more timing with it but I would rather drop the compression and add boost and timing.
This shim seems like a good deal. Did you use it? Any problems?

I dont have my gasket installed yet but if I go for over 400 at the wheels it will go in. Lots of people use them as cheaper alternatives to pistons, rods, etc; Ive seen them mainly in custom turbo boat engines but in a few high hp cars as well. Scott told me it should easily out perform the engine in terms of durability and roman told me the m104 stock is good for around 500hp so figure that as a good benchmark .

400 at the wheels is about my bench mark goal on the stock motor. Any more and I think we would definitely need pistons.
